This Sunday at the Gathering Church our message series, Serious Joy, continues with a focus on “Joy in My Family.”
We are engaged in a 40-Day Joy Experiment that ends on Thanksgiving Day. After that we are not going to be joyful anymore because it is going to be Christmas. (Our experiment is already showing that sarcasm is absolutely necessary for spiritual health.)
Is it possible to increase our capacity to experience and express joy?
Our families are both the best places and the hardest places to experience joy. The history of families in the Bible is actually not very positive. The first family had a homicide.
What happens in a family when Jesus gets hold of it?
It becomes perfect?
Hardly.
