The Gathering Kids

Children’s Ministry at the Gathering Church

We offer Sunday school for children ages:

• Babies-18 months
• 18 months- 3 years
• 4 years olds, 5 year olds, and Kindergartners
• 1st-3rd graders

*The upper elementary, middle school and high school children are encouraged to serve in the various classrooms as helpers.  

The curriculum we use is called First Look and 252 Basics created by the rethink Group, Inc.  The curriculum is based on wanting children to take a “first look” at who God is and understand the following principles:

• God made me.
• God loves me.
• Jesus wants to be my friend forever.

Each Sunday the lesson in each classroom consists of a

1. Basic Truth
2. Key Question
3. Bottom Line
4. Bible Story Focus
5. Memory Verse for the month.

Sample Lesson Outline:

Basic Truth: Jesus wants to be my friend forever.

Key Question: Is anything too hard for Jesus?

Bottom Line: Jesus can do anything.

Bible Story Focus: Jesus can do things we cannot: Jesus catches fish. (Luke 5:1-11)

Memory Verse: “With God all things are possible.” – Matthew 19:26
