People who found religion to be irrelevant, or worse, toxic found Jesus to be irresistible. Those who had rejected any formal expression of faith or spirituality constantly surrounded him.
But, why did they follow Jesus?
This Sunday at the Gathering Church we discover what made Jesus different and appealing. The story is told in the Gospel of Matthew 9:9-13, how Jesus shocked everyone by recruiting one of the most unlikely people ever to represent God’s new work in the world.
Jesus’ explanation has the potential to change how we look at God, others and even ourselves.
