This Sunday – June 21

This Sunday – June 21

There’s a brief description of what Jesus did in his public activity, found in Matthew 4:23-25.  We are going to look at this passage this Sunday night because we think that Jesus still wants to see the same things happen – now through his church, which includes us at the Gathering Church.  What Jesus did corresponds to what we need most in our lives, what everyone needs most in their lives.  I’m eager for us to look at this description together.

On June 28 we are having an Open House, a night to invite friends, families and others who have asked about the Gathering Church.  We will talk about this on Sunday and get ourselves prepared.

Also, this Sunday we will gather for prayer at 4:30.  This will be a brief time to do the spiritual ‘set-up’ for our time together.  We believe that prayer best connects us to the purposes and power of God.  If you have little kids, I know that it’s tough for you to come to this, but if you are available, join us.

Cograts to Mike Raabe who won the disc golf competition last night with an amazing round of +3 at the UNC course.  Mike and I have been competing head-to-head in this sport for a couple of years, and I had my best round last night, playing in a different group.  Mike’s face was priceless when, with great pride I announced my personal best round of +8, surely good enough to have beat him.  Pride doeas go before a fall.  Peyton, what’s the deal?  How did you let that happen?

Personal:  Our family heads to Concord today for a family wedding tomorrow, another family reunion.  Libby and I have had our granddaughters and two of our daughters-in-law with us this week.  It’s been awesome.  Our dog, Bailey has been a great host.  I hope that you have a good weekend.
